Act3 Playhouse welcomes "Out TV: The Next American Gay" reality star Vincent Leggett to the cast of Side Show playing the role of Jake, originated by influence Norm Lewis.

Leggett is thrilled to be able to play a dream role at such a great theatre in Atlanta. Originally from Nashville, TN, receiving his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University Of The Arts in Philadelphia, PA. This marks his first "musical" in the Atlanta area after featuring in "Forever Christmas" in Stone Mountain, GA this past Christmas!

Leggett has starred Off-Broadway in 2010-11 production "Black Nativity Now" directed by Alfred Pressiner, also starring in TheatreWorks USA's National Tour "Junie B. Jones", being the very first African American man to play Junie B.'s father in history of the show. He is mostly known as being a cast member on "The Next American Gay" reality show that aired last summer on Out TV, a popular LGBT TV network in Canada. Earning him the title of Mr. Gay World USA Tennessee 2012.

Leggett moved from New York to Atlanta just last year, and without missing a beat, he made an appearance on Bravo TV's "The Kandi Fatory". After almost a year, Vincent is back in the theatre scene, but this time here in Atlanta at Act3 Playhouse!

Side Show is a musical by Bill Russell (book and lyrics) and Henry Krieger (music) based on the lives of Daisy and Violet Hilton, a circus act of conjoined twins who became famous stage performers in the 1930s. Directed by Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Award Winner, Chris Ikner, with music direction by MAT Award-winner Lyn Taylor. Featuring an amazing cast and crew.

The role of Jake is the "Canibal King" whom falls in love with Violet Hilton (Played by Alli Seahan). He is offered to work for the girls as they tour the world with a vaudvile act. Towards the end of the show, Jake mustars up the courage to tell Violet how he feels (You Should be Loved) and she quickly shuts him down professing that she only sees him as family and society during that time will never except an African American man with a Caucausion woman. Jake has a meltdown and pours out his everything in the tear dropping number (Canibal King Reprise)!

Preview is Thursday, November 6 and Opening Night is Friday, November 7. The show runs November 7 - 23, 2014 and tickets range from $15-$28. You can purchase tickets at www.act3productions.org.
