During the 2016 OSCARS which aired last night on ABC, actor and Oscar winner Louis Gossett, Jr. introduced the In Memoriam tribute as Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters performed The Beatles hit "Blackbird." Once again, The Oscars took time to honor the many talents we lost during the previous year, the lives they touched and the art they made or made possible. Watch the moving tribute below.

Among the legendary Hollywood figures featured in the video were Alan Rickman, Maureen O'Hara, Anne Meara, Omar Sharif, Robert Loggia, Christopher Lee, Wes Craven, David Bowie, and Dean Jones. Other entertainers and industry professionals featured were Melissa Mathison, James Horner, Jerry Weintraub, Taylor Negron, Lizabeth Scott, Theodore Bikel, Richard Corliss, Alex Rocco, Holly Woodlawn, Richard Glatzer, Daniel Gerson, and Leonard Nimoy.

The 88th ACADEMY AWARDS aired Sunday, February 28, 2016, from the Dolby Theatre® at Hollywood & Highland Center® in Hollywood. The Oscar presentation was also televised live in more than 225 countries and territories worldwide. Comedian, actor and filmmaker Chris Rock returned as host of the event for a second time.
