Teal Wicks, Natalie Weiss and More to Join Carner & Gregor at Feinstein's/54 Below

Songwriters Sam Carner and Derek Gregor return to 54 Below on June 2nd for a 9:30 concert of their songs from various upcoming projects.

Carner and Gregor will be joined by Broadway performers Teal Wicks (Finding Neverland, Wicked), Natalie Weiss (Breaking Down the Riffs, Everyday Rapture), Gregory Haney (Hamilton, Bring it On), Stephen C. Anthony (The Book of Mormon), Aaron Galligan-Stierle (Ragtime, The Phantom of the Opera), Madeline Trumble (Newsies), Kathleen Elizabeth Monteleone (Hands on a Hardbody), as well as newcomers Larry Owens (Gigantic), Philippe Arroyo, David Brumfield, Ned Donovan, Kathryn Francisco, Arianna Hanson, Andrew Mayer, Samantha Parrish, Morgan Reilly, Emily Schultheis, and Johnny Shea.

The audience will be treated to the music of three upcoming projects: ISLAND SONG, which will have its world premiere this summer at the Adirondack Theatre Festival (June 21st - July 2 nd), TOAST, most recently seen in workshop at the Bloomington Playwrights Project, as well as songs from a new musical, a currently under-wraps adaptation of an ABC television series.

The entire cast of the ATF production of ISLAND SONG will be featured at the concert, and include Galligan-Stierle, Trumble, Monteleone, Arroyo, and Schultheis.

Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, among Playbill.com's 12 "Contemporary Musical Theatre Songwriters You Should Know," won the 2014 John Wallowitch Award for songwriters under 40, Sam won the 2015 Kleban Prize for "Most Promising Librettist," they won a 2016 MAC Award for "Best Comedic Song" (and eight of their songs have been nominated for MAC Awards).

Carner & Gregor's musical Unlock'd played an extended Off-Broadway run at the Duke Theater in 2013, having won a Richard Rodgers Award and "Best of the Fest" at NYMF. Their musical Island Song will be produced at the Adirondack Theatre Festival in June, having had a workshop production at the Bloomington Playwrights Project and other workshops around the US, as well as concerts at (le) Poisson Rouge in New York, Crawfish in Tokyo (in Japanese!), London's St. James Studio, and the Comedie Nation in Paris.

Current projects include Toast, an electro-pop/New Orleans jazz fusion adaptation of Rex Rose's novella, which had a workshop production at the Bloomington Playwrights Project in early 2016; Cupid, a musical adaptation of the ABC television series; and additional songs for Sheila Levine Is Dead and Living in New York (book by Todd Graff and songs by Michael Devon, direction by Susan Stroman), which had a recent workshop with the Vineyard Theatre,

Their short children's musical Love, Splat has toured the country since 2013 in the TheatreWorks USA revue The Teacher From the Black Lagoon and Other Stories. They have written numerous songs for revues and web series, including My Gay Roommate, Redheads Anonymous (2016 Indie Series Award nomination for "Best Song"), and more. Their songs are done in hundreds of venues around the world every year and have been performed on all seven continents.
