THE COLOR PURPLE recently recorded its official cast album, which will be released by Broadway Records on February 19 and can be pre-ordered at Amazon.com and at www.BroadwayRecords.com. Directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle, the production stars Cynthia Erivo, Jennifer Hudson, and Danielle Brooks- all making their Broadway debuts. The company just got together for a listening party and BroadwayWorld was there to celebrate. Check out photos from the special night here!

Peter Friedman, Keilly McQuail, NaIan Gonzalez Norvind, Robbie Collier Sublett, Joyce Van Pattenand Mare Winningham are featured in the LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater world premiere of Her Requiem, by Greg Pierce, directed by Kate Whoriskey. Her Requiem is currently in previews for a February 22nd opening and will run for six weeks only through Sunday, March 20 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). The hit Broadway comedy AN ACT OF GOD, starring Emmy Award winner Sean Hayes, officially opened last night, February 10, at Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles, for a limited six-week engagement through Sunday, March 13. Joining Hayes are David Josefsberg (as Michael) and James Gleason (as Gabriel). Go inside the star-studded opening night here!

Following a sold-out run at The Public Theater, ECLIPSED will begin previews on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, with opening night set for March 6, 2016 on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 W. 45th Street). Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong'o will reprise her role on Broadway for this strictly limited engagement. The cast just met the press and you can check it out here!

Original Broadway Cast member Jackie Burns (If/Then, Wicked, Hair), Tamyra Gray (American Idol Season One Finalist, Rent), and Matthew Hydzik (Side Show, West Side Story, Grease) have joined Original Broadway Cast member Anthony Rapp (Rent, Six Degrees of Separation, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown) and the rest of the previously announced cast in the National Tour of IF/THEN. The tour is now playing at the Connor Palace Theatre in Cleveland through Sunday, February 21. Check out more photos here!

54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, just presented Broadway Rocks Kelly Clarkson a one-night concert featuring Broadway and up-and-coming performers singing their favorite songs by the first American Idol. The show was was directed/produced by Brandon Beynon and Music Directed/Arrangements by Joshua Zecher-Ross, with Micah Burgess (Guitar), Lorenzo Wolff (Bass), Kenny Hildebrandt (Drums). DEFYING GRAVITY: the songs of Stephen Schwartz is the world premiere concert production that is set to become the most exciting musical theatre event down under, playing at Sydney's Theatre Royale February 12-13. This event celebrating this incredible body of work is headlined by two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster (Anything Goes, Thoroughly Modern Millie) and Aaron Tveit (LES MISERABLES movie, Next To Normal, Catch Me If You Can) who will appear alongside internationally renowned West End star Joanna Ampil (Miss Saigon, LES MISERABLES, Cats), Helpmann Award winner Helen Dallimore (Blood Brothers, Legally Blonde) and David Harris (Miss Saigon, Legally Blonde) who is returning to Australia for this event. Steppenwolf Theatre Company presents the Chicago premiere of Annie Baker's 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, THE FLICK. Under the direction of Dexter Bullard, who also directed the Chicago premiere of Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation, the cast features Danny McCarthy,Caroline Neff and Travis Turner as the three hapless employees of THE FLICK movie house. The production is curently in previews for a February 14th opening and runs through May 8, 2016 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre (1650 N Halsted St). Christina Cole (The Magistrate, The Lightening Play), Jennifer Mudge (Into The Woods, Dutchman) and Lloyd Owen(Good People, The Bodyguard) join internationally acclaimed actor Matthew Perry (Friends, The Odd Couple) to complete the cast in the World Premiere of his playwriting debut, The End of Longing, at The Playhouse Theatre, London, from 2 February - 14 May 2016. Design is by the 2015 Evening Standard award-winner, Anna Fleischle(Hangmen), with lighting by Lucy Carter and composition and sound by Isobel Waller-Bridge. Check out a first look here!

Tony Award-winner Lena Hall rocked yesterday's #Ham4Ham with the band from SCHOOL OF ROCK the musical. The group sang "Sweet Child O'Mine" in honor of Kids' Night on Broadway.
