Sahara Davenport Memorial Show Set for XL Nightclub, Dec 14
Drag pals, family and friends of RuPaul's Drag Race star Sahara Davenport are coming together in her memory for a tribute performance.
The one-night-only event will take place at the XL Nightclub at THE OUT NYC at 8 pm on Friday, December 14; doors open at 7:30 pm. The show will be immediately followed by XL's Hot Mess Drag Review.
Sahara, born Antoine Ashley, was a beloved reality television personality and classically-trained dancer, best known as a contestant on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Sahara, who passed away in October of heart failure at the age of 27, will be honored in a memorial organized by boyfriend and fellow drag entertainer Karl Westerberg (aka Manila Luzon). The show will feature the cast of Hot Mess, industry friends, Drag Race cast members, and more.
Open since March, the XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge is the first nightly gay dance club to open in New York City in 15 years and features the largest LED wall in any nightclub in the city at 35-feet, two dance floors and a full stage.
