Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) announces a one-show-only concert reading of the company's original bluegrass musical Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge, on Monday, July 14th at 7pm (doors open 6pm) at (Le) Poisson Rouge, 158 Bleecker Street, www.lpr.com.

First developed and presented by Prospect in 2009, the music and lyrics of Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge are by founding company artist Peter Mills, winner of the Kleban Prize for lyrics and the Fred Ebb Award, among other honors. The concert is directed by Cara Reichel and music directed by Eli Zoller. This tale of an unlikely hero, a backwoods romance, and a slapdash murder delivers pitch dark comedy with the kick of moonshine.

This special event reunites the entire original cast of Prospect's 2009 world premiere production for one night only! Performers include Jeff Edgerton (Parade), Carol Hickey (The Flood), Victoria Huston-Elem (Addams Family), Mark Mozingo (Tock Tick), Dan Sharkey (Bridges of Madison County) and Scott Wakefield (Hands on a Hard Body), and actor-musicians Melody Allegra Berger, Matthew Dure, Dennis Michael Keefe, and Mike Rosengarten.

The concert is presented at (Le) Poisson Rouge, a state-of-the art performance space founded by musicians on the site of the historic Village Gate. Dedicated to the fusion of popular and art cultures in music, film, theater, dance, and fine art, the venue's mission is to revive the symbiotic relationship between art and revelry; to establish a creative asylum for both artists and audiences. LPR prides itself in offering the highest quality eclectic programming, impeccable acoustics, and bold design.

Ticket prices for this special event range from $15-$35 and can be purchased online at www.ProspectTheater.org or www.lpr.com. Additionally, tickets may be purchased in person at the (Le) Poisson Rouge box office, which is open daily from 5PM until close. $25 and $35 table seating also requires a two item minimum food and beverage purchase from the venue. $15 standing room tickets do not require a minimum purchase.
