On Monday, September 9, the Broadway at Birdland concert series presented the return of Steven Brinberg as Simply Barbra in "Mostly Marvin," with very special guest star, Erik Altemus. Musical director for the event was Christopher Denny. Scroll down for photos from the evening!

The concert celebrated the music of the late, great Marvin Hamlisch with selections ranging from the expected ("The Way We Were") to seldom heard gems, like the alternate to that famous song known as "The Way We Weren't." Also included will be rarities like "Hearts Not Diamonds," originally sung by Lauren Bacall in "The Fan," and a song Hamlisch wrote for a revised version of the musical Ballroom. Hamlisch met Streisand in the Broadway production of Funny Girl, so there were tunes from that beloved musical as well. Brinberg knew Mr. Hamlisch well, and worked with him in concert on many occasions.

The award-winning Broadway at Birdland concert series has taken place every Monday night at the iconic music room for the past ten years.
