The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to welcome back Broadway and tv actress Anita Gillette, who debuted a new concert entitled "So, As I Was Saying." The one-night-only event took place on Monday, March 30 at 7pm. BroadwayWorld has photos from the concert below!

Anita Gillette has been described as dazzling, classy, and "one red hot mama." "So, As I Was Saying" included behind-the-scenes stories about the showbiz giants she's worked with, including Jule Styne, her mentor Irving Berlin, and memories of sleeping with Burt Lancaster's Oscar! Songs included will be "Everybody Says Don't", "It Never Was You", and "Just In Time". The evening was directed by Barry Kleinbordt, musical direction was by Paul Greenwood, with Ritt Henn on bass and John Redsecker on drums.

Anita Gillette has been described as "dazzling", "sassy", "hilarious", "classy", and "touching". She won both a MAC and Bistro Award for her show "After All", which premiered at Birdland two years ago. She returns to Birdland with a completely new version of her show, entitled "So, As I Was Saying". She weaves her stories with song, covering her many years on Broadway and in films with stories about people such as Burt Lancaster, Bill Murray, Irving Berlin, Nanette Fabray, Jule Styne and more. She sings songs of Irving Berlin (Blue Skies, The Only Dance I Know, Laugh It Up), Jule Styne (Just In Time), Kurt Weill (It Never Was You) Stephen Sondheim (Everybody Says Don't), Nancy Ford (Old Friend), Bock & Harnick (I've Got What You Want), Harburg & Lane (When The Idle Poor).

She has appeared in fourteen Broadway shows and won a Tony nomination for Chapter Two. But she may be best known as Tina Fey's mother in "30 Rock", or Quincy's bride in "Quincy", or as Mona the Mistress in "Moonstruck", or Miss Mitzi in "Shall We Dance". She has also played everybody's mother on film: Bill Murray ("Larger Than Life") Jack Black ("Bob Roberts"), Jennifer Anniston ("She's The One"), John Goodman ("Normal, Ohio"), Mary Louise Parker ("Boys On The Side").

She appeared on every game show ever created, "Pyramid" being her favorite. She was a foil for Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show at least 50 times! She had recurring roles on "CSI" and "Law & Order" and a was a regular on "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice", "Almost Grown" (by David Chase), "Normal, Ohio", and "The War At Home". She recently guest starred on "Blue Bloods" and "Modern Family".
