Nicolette Fernandes and Benton-Steele Botes
will lead the cast of GREASE at the Masque Theatre.

The smash hit musical GREASE will be hitting the Masque Theatre stage this December. Presented by the Masque Theatre, GREASE will serve as a fundraiser for the community theatre, with the Masque hoping to raise money to keep this wonderful and historic venue running smoothly, as well as providing some first-class holiday entertainment.

GREASE is set in the 1950s and is full of well-known, toe-tapping songs such as "Greased Light'nin'", "You're the One That I Want" and "We Go Together". The story follows the up-and-down relationship between new girl in town, Sandy Dumbrowski, and cool kid, Danny Zuko. The two have a secret summertime romance - but when they get back to school, everything is different. Sandy attempts to navigate the tricky Rydell High School social waters and catch Danny's attention again, but he is chiefly concerned with maintaining his tough-guy reputation. In the end, the Pink Ladies help Sandy figure out how to win back the leader of the Burger Palace Boys.

The vibrant and energetic cast is led by Nicolette Fernandes and Benton-Steele Botes as Sandy and Danny. The Masque Theatre's very own manager, Nicola Date, will also be up on stage and entertaining audiences in dual roles as principal Miss Lynch and Beauty School Dropout's Teen Angel. Bringing their artistic vision to life is director Darryl Spijkers and musical director Wesley Wolhuter. Spijkers has won several CATAs over the years including Best Musical in 2015 for this very same production.

GREASE will open at the theatre in Muizenberg on Thursday 15 December 2016 and run until Friday 23 December 2016. Tickets are available through the Masque Theatre by phone on 021 788 6999 or by email.
