PS 84 The Lillian Weber School Parent Teacher Association is proud to announce that tickets are now on sale for their special cabaret event, READING, WRITING & CABARET, to raise money for the school. The Broadway-quality show and auction will take place on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Ailey Citigroup Theater/The Joan Weill Center for Dance (405 West 55th Street at 9th Avenue in NYC).

READING, WRITING & CABARET will feature Jane Krakowski, the Tony and Olivier award-winning actress and Emmy-nominated star of NBC's "30 Rock," sharing her acclaimed cabaret show. Other benefit performers include Broadway's Kerry Butler (Hairspray, Xanadu), Kate Baldwin (Finian's Rainbow), and Graham Rowat (Guys and Dolls). They will be accompanied by a band led by Broadway and film music director Michael Kosarin (Beauty and the Beast, Tangled), a PS 84 parent.

The evening will also feature a cocktail reception, silent auction and live auction. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to http://ps84pta.eventbrite.com.

ABOUT PS 84 THE LILLIAN WEBER SCHOOL FOR THE ARTS
P.S. 84 is a Title I neighborhood elementary (K-5) school serving a diverse community, with two programs that host bilingual education in French and Spanish. The school spends much energy learning about other cultures, and in nature has a high awareness of what is happening around the world.

The PTA works closely with the administration of PS 84, parents, foundations, and organizations to help create an enriched elementary school experience. Since PS 84 is the only school in Manhattan to have both Spanish and French dual-language programs, the PTA has a breadth of cultural interests and influences to draw from. Fundraising goals have included supporting the arts and cultural diversity, supplementing science programs, re-opening the library, raising money for new gym equipment, and realizing teachers' "wish lists" so that each class can pursue individualized projects.
