The King Center for the Performing Arts of Eastern Florida State College and The Historic Cocoa Village Playhouse are proud to present the fourth annual Summer Musical Theatre Project, running June 22nd through July 19th.

All levels of ability are encouraged to audition, whether beginning or advanced. Student musicians are also invited to audition and will be featured on stage as part of the orchestra. This is your chance to bring your appetite and desire to participate in a program that will develop your musical theatre arts and new skills learned from this collaborative project.

• Four-week program runs June 22 - July 19

• Performance dates are July 17 - 18 at 7:30 pm and July 19 at 2 pm

• Swing! The Broadway Musical goes on sale to the public May 15

Through special arrangements with R & H Theatrical and under the direction of Dr. Anastacia Hawkins-Smith, this four week project will focus on skills such as auditioning, acting, singing, dancing, orchestra and more. The project also includes chat backs with industry guests, including a Q & A with the Top 5 American Idols, and educational studies on musical theatre. Each attendee will also receive a ticket to see America Idol at the King Center on July 9th.

Classes and rehearsals will be held daily Mon-Fri, 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm from June 22nd - July 19th. The project culminates with three performances of Swing! The Broadway Musical, featuring the awesome talents of the project participants, on the King Center stage July 17, 18 & 19.

All auditions and training will be held at the King Center for the Performing Arts on Monday, June 22nd at 12:30 pm. Anyone arriving after this time or without prior registration is not guaranteed an audition. It is the responsibility of the participant to be at all rehearsals, classes and performances.

Early bird registration fee is $25 before June 12th and $35 after this date. The non-refundable registration fee will be applied to tuition costs.
