The Time Out New York Lounge at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) will celebrate the Sixth Anniversary of its popular weekly open mic night, Songs at the New World, on Monday August 12th.

Described as "a boozy, belting bash," the evening will be hosted by Colleen Harris and Lindsay Morgan, with music direction by Ryan Fielding Garrett and special performances from Jacob Ming-Trent (Hands on a Hardbody, Shrek), Eric Michael Krop (Godspell), Russell Fischer (Jersey Boys), Shanna Sharp, Patrick Kuzara, and country-pop trio Siren.

Started in 2007 by Colleen Harris, Songs at the New World has been fostering up-and-coming talent in the heart of the theater district for six years. Every Monday, undiscovered talent shares the stage with casts and crews of the shows at New World Stages, as well as composers, Broadway veterans, and enthusiasts.

The show runs from 10pm-2am and will feature an open bar from 10-11:30pm, sponsored by Pyrat Rum. You must be 21 or over to enter. There is no cover charge.
