Fox Theatre Releases Statement on Theater of the Stars' Failure to Reach Fundraising Goal

Following the news that Theater of the Stars' campaign did not reach its phase 1 goal of $500,000 by July 12, Fox Theatre President and CEO, Allan Vella, released the following the statement on the matter:

The Fox Theatre has a long-standing relationship with Theater of the Stars. Recent events, however, have demonstrated that Theater of the Stars has been unable to fulfill the requirements of our lease agreement. As a result, the agreement between the Fox Theatre and Theater of the Stars was terminated. Both parties have agreed to move forward with an at-will usage arrangement. The termination of the lease allows The Fox Theatre to begin to fill future vacancies.

Theater of the Stars has cancelled both BUDDY - The Buddy Holly Story and the upcoming engagement of DREAMGIRLS. Theater of the Stars is reviewing its options regarding ANYTHING GOES. The engagements of Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID, STOMP and CATS have not been cancelled and individual tickets are still on sale.

Customers who purchased single tickets for DREAMGIRLS (August 2 - 11) at the Fox Theatre ticket office or at a Fox Theatre Outlet should contact the Fox Theatre Ticket Office by phone at 404-881-2017 or by email at boxoffice@foxtheatre.org to obtain a full refund. Refunds will only be made in the same method of payment used to originally purchase the tickets at the box office. Customers who purchased tickets online or by phone will automatically receive a refund to the credit card used for purchasing tickets within 5-10 business days. Group Tickets will be refunded in the same method of payment used to originally purchase tickets. All group payments made by check will be refunded by check within 5-10 business days. Season Ticket Holders for Theater of the Stars should contact Theater of the Stars directly at 404-252-8960 to obtain a refund for their purchase.
