The Broadway show Hamilton has broken multiple records - from hitting record-breaking sales of $32M before it even hit Broadway, to being the first musical cast recording to ever top the Billboard Rap Album charts (was number 1 for the week of November 28 and is still in the top 10 this week).

Hamilton uses rap and hip-hop to tell the story of Alexander Hamilton's rise to power during the American Revolution, and Hamilton fans are using Twitter expand on this story even more. So far this year there have been over 1M Tweets about Hamilton the Musical.

Everyone comes to Twitter to talk about what's happening in pop culture - from music to TV to fashion, and we're seeing this same trend now with people talking about Broadway and theatre on Twitter. In the past 30 days alone, there have been 220K Tweets about Hamilton the Musical. The conversation around Hamilton stands out, as @Lin_Manuel (Lin-Manuel Miranda) has utilized the power of Twitter to connect with his now 162K followers and fans regularly (this time last year he had 50K followers).
