Bay Street Theatre Announces November Calendar Including THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK 11/9-21

The Bay Street Theatre has a big November in store as the winter season kicks in here on the East End. From literature brought to life on stage, to a visit from Parent's Choice favorite Hot Peas ‘N Butter, Bay Street is sure to keep you warm this season!

Next up is the premiere of Bay Street's newest educational program, LITERATURE LIVE!, on November 9th with THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK. The play, by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett is a stage adaptation of the book and runs November 9th - 21st.

Sponsored in part by Target, LITERATURE LIVE! is designed with middle and high school age students, their teachers and administrators in mind, yet it is also a great show for families and other groups. Weekday performance times will vary. Saturday November 14th and 21st performances are at 7pm. Tickets are $10 and $15. Call the box office for tickets and showtimes at 631-725-9500.

On Friday, November 13th starting at 4pm, the LONG ISLAND FILM FESTIVAL will showcase numerous short films and feature presentations, many from local directors! For $12, the public can come in all afternoon and evening to view as few or as many titles as desired. The festival's feature film is "Goyband", directed by Christopher Grimm, a comedy about a former boy-band icon which will have audiences laughing out loud. The final film starts at 8pm. Thanksgiving Weekend at Bay Street is sure to provide fun for the whole family. The weekend kicks off with HOT PEAS ‘N BUTTER on Friday, November 27 with two shows at 1pm and 3pm. What a great way to dance and groove with the 2008 ‘Parent's Choice Award' winning band! Hot Peas 'N Butter is a unique children's musical group that incorporates elements of traditional Latin music, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, jazz, folk, and rock. By combining an interactive, invigorating approach to performance with mature, multicultural music, Hot Peas 'N Butter has developed a distinct way of inspiring care and creativity in kids and adults alike.

Tickets are $12 for children and $15 for adults. KidStreet is sponsored in part by Suffolk County National Bank and Suffolk County under the auspices of the Office of Cultural Affairs, Steve Levy, County Executive.

On Saturday evening, November 28th at 8pm join Bay Street for a one night only performance of SPALDING GRAY: STORIES LEFT TO TELL. This show, conceived by Kathleen Russo and directed by Lucy Sexton, will catapult the audience into the hilarious, heartbreaking, and ultimately remarkable life of one of the most irreverent and revered storytellers of our time. An ensemble cast including, Kathleen Chalfant, Michael Cunningham, Hazelle Goodman and Ain Gordon, perform the beloved classics and never-before-heard stories that embrace the wit and wisdom found in the words of Spalding Gray. Tickets $35, $50 and $65.
