Mikki-Dene Le Roux, Andrew Roux and
Milton Schorr will perform in THE GAME

Alexander Bar's Upstairs Theatre will host THE GAME: OHNE DICH (WITHOUT YOU), an hour-long comedy performed by Milton Schorr, Andrew Roux and Mikki-Dene Le Roux, for a three-performance season this May.

Following its debut run in March, this edition of the cult classic comedy franchise is improvised according to a set storyline, creating an on-the-edge energy that has made this show notorious - with every performance being one-of-a-kind.

A twisted tale of love and heartbreak, THE GAME: OHNE DICH (WITHOUT YOU) intentionally grapples with deep universal themes. Legendary Coach Frik (Milton Schorr) and his new assistant Maachel (Andrew Roux) are reeling from broken hearts. On the brink of ending it all, a cry to the heavens delivers to them an Angel (Mikki-Dene Le Roux) and the chance to wrest their sanity from a haze of romantic illusion - if they have the balls.

THE GAME is a long form improvisation set in a world where an ancient form of extreme handball has become a global obsession. Consisting of a series of live events, THE GAME is built around its participants and is generally wholly improvised, with rehearsal work revolving around character and relationship development. This means that each performance is unpredictable, with its participants simply playing THE GAME and letting what may unfold, unfold. THE GAME was first performed in Cape Town in 2009, after which it travelled to the South African National Arts Festival, where it continued to challenge audiences with the show's unique, non-theatrical style. Past editions of THE GAME have included REDEMPTION and SHANNON'S TONGUE.

THE GAME: OHNE DICH (WITHOUT YOU) runs from 5 - 7 May at 21:00. Tickets cost R80-R90 and can be booked online at the Alexander Bar website or purchased at the bar. For telephone bookings and enquiries, call 021 300 1652. Alexander Bar & Café is situated at 76 Strand Street in the Cape Town city centre and can be followed on Facebook and Twitter.
