Mrs. Bennet has five unmarried daughters, and not a single suitor among them. Luckily, Netherfield Hall is to be let at last, and to an eligible gentleman: the handsome and charming Mr. Bingley. Lovely Jane Bennet soon attracts Bingley’s attention, while witty and headstrong Lizzie conceives an instant dislike for Bingley’s proud, standoffish, and obscenely wealthy friend, Mr. Darcy. Amid flirtations, misunderstandings, dashing soldiers, an intimidating aristocrat, and a very persistent clergyman cousin, the Bennet sisters do their best to navigate the perilous world of Regency romance. But will there be wedding bells and happily-ever-afters – or will the Bennet family’s romantic adventures end in scandal and disgrace? In this fresh adaptation by Emma Whipday, her wit and wisdom shine in a timeless tale of self-discovery and romance. “Emma Whipday’s stage adaptation (at American Shakespeare Center) is spot-on, as is the show itself.“ DC Theater Arts Fridays at 8, Sat/Sundays at 2PM

Compass Rose Theater is at 801 Chase St., Annapolis, MD.
Founded in the spring of 2011, Compass Rose Theater is a small non-profit professional theater, which produces productions of the highest caliber. Driven by our passion to produce plays which leave the audience moved, and even transformed by the experience of the show, we hire actors and theater artists who are accomplished professionals to produce plays that range from classic to contemporary. Discovering the truth of each script, and striving to achieve excellence in each production, we hold ourselves to the standards. In April 2013, we relocated from our first home, a renovated storefront, moving to a former rug cleaners, which we rehabbed into a lobby, classroom, and 80 seat theater.
