Il Pirata at Lisner Auditorium

Bellini's Il Pirata is an early Romantic masterpiece in the bel canto style, set in Sicily during the 13th century, telling the story of an exiled nobleman turned pirate, his long-lost love, and his rival. The opera features a quintessential mad scene and soaring melodies. Lawrence Brownlee returns as Gualtiero, joined by Will Liverman as Ernesto and Angela Meade as Imogene. The Washington Concert Opera Orchestra performs under Artistic Director Antony Walker.
