The Prop Master's Dream is an innovative fusion opera produced by the Vancouver Cantonese Opera that tells the extraordinary true story of Wah-Kwan Gwan, a Chinese opera performer and prop master. The cast features multi-award nominated Haudenosaunee/Irish actress and singer Cheri Maracle and Chinese Canadian rap narrator Gerry Sung. With lighting design by Itai Erdal and projections by filmmaker Anthony Lee, this production aims to illuminate Gwan's unique cultural heritage and contributions. The performances are set for November 2, 2024, at the Vancouver Playhouse.
