Folkestone Songwriting Festival returns in late January–February 2026 with a rich and inspiring programme of standalone masterclasses, community projects and live events, celebrating songwriting as both a creative craft and a shared human experience.

Alongside the all-important writing workshops, the festival features concerts, participatory community events and welcoming social gatherings, all brought together under the theme of Wintering. This year’s programme explores how creativity, connection and community can help keep the seasonal blues at bay — offering spaces to reflect, collaborate and feel supported through the winter months.

Developed for Folkestone’s diverse and dynamic creative artists, the festival creates opportunities for people at all stages of their musical journey. Across January and February, audiences can engage with a mixture of paid events, free sessions and dedicated artist development activity, making the festival accessible, inclusive and deeply rooted in its local community.

The 2026 programme features an outstanding lineup of award-winning songwriters, musicians and industry professionals, including Hannah White, Findlay Napier, Nina Clark, Josie Matcham, Pete Astor and many more. Through intimate workshops, live performances and shared creative spaces, the festival nurtures talent while celebrating the joy of original song.

Whether you’re an established songwriter, an emerging artist, or simply someone who loves discovering new music and meaningful experiences, Folkestone Songwriting Festival 2026 invites you to gather, create and connect this winter in Folkestone.
