Following the completion of its restoration, Türkiye’s ancient Laodicean Theater just hosted its first performance after 1,690 years of silence. The İzmir State Symphony Orchestra performed a concert for nearly 15,000 people at the theater’s re-opening ceremony.

We know Deniz Tekin with her delicate vocals and eloquent guitar playing. The impressive vocal started out with playing the piano and the flute, and was listened to by millions with her initial records. She proved her talent every step of the way after she released the album Kozakuluçka in 2017.

The audience held high hopes for Kalben after discovering her at her first concert at Salon İKSV. Kalben made great strides with her unique and impressive voice accompanied by her guitar, and she has also succeeded in adding a new layer to her pure and simple music with every new production.

It would be unfair to describe John McLaughlin as a guitarist merely. He is the leading representative of a musical culture spread across the globe. McLaughlin has proven to be a true master of music through his vastly diverse collaborations, such as those with the Mahavishnu Orchestra, Santana, Zakir Hussain, and Wayne Shorter.

At the event to be held as part of the 29th Istanbul Jazz Festival, many of the most prominent names of the local jazz scene such as Ferit Odman Group, Cem Tuncer Quartet, Dilek Sert Erdoğan Group, İpek Dinç Band, Aydın Kahya Band, Uraz Kıvaner, ‘Chet Baker Project’, Önder Focan Group, Meltem Ege Group, Sibel Köse Group and Hayati Kafe will be taking the stage.

Istanbul State Opera and Ballet has announced that the Sehir-Orman performance, which was planned to take place on Saturday, March 19 at 17.00 at Atatürk Cultural Center Theater Stage, has been postponed to April 16, 2022 at 17.00 due to adverse weather conditions.

The open call for Flying Carpet Festival 2022 artist-in-residence is now open. The deadline for submitting the application form is February 28th, 2022. The festival will occur between September 15th-25th in Mardin, Turkey, and surrounding cities.

Gürcan participated on the jury of a ballet competition in North Macedonia on November 20, which featured 120 dancers from around the world competing. The two young Turkish ballet dancers won first and second place in the competition.

What makes a stage production successful is how it adapts a movie, takes its story, and recreates it in a way that preserves the essence while showing some other aspects that were not highlighted in the movie version. It needs to show something new while preserving the basics and the familiarity of the story.
