Ouça: The Doo Wop Project lança novo álbum 'Echoes Of The Street'

O Doo Wop Project, composto por veteranos da Broadway Charl Brown, Dwayne Cooper, John Dias, Russell Fischer & Dominic Nolfi, lançou seu novo álbum completo, Echoes of the Street. Confira abaixo.

Echoes of the Street marca o quinto lançamento completo do grupo e homenageia as raízes do doo wop enquanto reimagina clássicos modernos para uma nova era. Produzido por Sonny Paladino para Joy Machine Records, o quinteto gravou 12 faixas para Echoes of the Street, abrangendo clássicos do R&B, sucessos pop e favoritos do teatro musical.

No álbum, os vocalistas interpretam uma variedade de faixas desde “My Girl” dos The Temptations até “Get Lucky” [feat. Pharrell Williams & Nile Rodgers] dos Daft Punk. Outras faixas incluem “Somewhere” de West Side Story e “Shake It Off” de Taylor Swift. O álbum também apresenta sua primeira música original, “Ooh Whee (That Doo Wop Song)” escrita pelo compositor Elliot Lurie, frontman do Looking Glass e autor da canção de sucesso “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl).”

“Elliot nos disse que passa cerca de uma hora por dia ouvindo música nova no Spotify e nos encontrou lá”, diz o diretor musical e produtor Sonny Paladino. “Ele adorou nossa visão fresca sobre um som nostálgico e sabia que tinha a música perfeita para nós. Ele a enviou, fizemos alguns ajustes no arranjo para se adequar às nossas vozes, e com alguns ajustes, estamos todos muito felizes com o resultado da colaboração.”

Para celebrar o lançamento, o The Doo Wop Project recentemente foi a atração principal em um show especial de lançamento do álbum no Sony Hall em Nova York no dia 7 de outubro, apresentando uma noite repleta de clássicos e performances de estreia do novo álbum. Ao longo de 2025, eles irão entreter o público com um novo show de 90 minutos — também chamado Echoes of The Street — por toda a América do Norte neste mês, seguido de datas em outubro e além.
