Dancing With The Universe at Betty Oliphant Theatre

Dancing with the Universe, is a dance theatre production co-directed by Vivian Chong and choreographer Kathleen Rea with dramaturge by Tristan Whiston. Vivian tells her life story of losing her sight form a rare reaction to ibuprofen that caused third-degree burns through dance, song, visual imagery and text alongside an ensemble cast of six dancers Brayden Cairns, Hannah Drover, Karen Kaeja, Ben Landsberg, Emily Leblanc, Suzanne Liska, and Elise Tigges and cellist Cheryl O. It is a multi-disciplinary journey that shines a light on loss, grief and the resiliency of the human spirit. The production coincides with the book launch of Vivian Chongs graphic memoir Dancing After TEN co-created by Vivian Chong and by Georgia Webber. Copies of the book both hardcover and audio-described version will be sold in the lobby.
