“Oliver! The Musical” brings Charles Dickens’ beloved novel to life. Set in Victorian-era London, it follows young orphan Oliver Twist as he navigates the city’s underworld of theft and violence, seeking a home, family, and love. The charismatic Fagin leads a gang of child pickpockets, while Oliver’s fate intertwines with the kind gentleman who rescues him. With spirited songs like “Food, Glorious Food” and “Consider Yourself,” Oliver! captures the human yearning for love, hope, and the indomitable human spirit. Showtimes: May 3&4, 8pm. May 5, 2pm. The Richey Suncoast Theatre, a non-profit originally built in 1925 and named after silent film star Thomas Meighan, opened in 1926. It added sound in 1930 but closed in 1934 due to the Great Depression. Reopened in 1938, it became a community theatre in 1972.
Mission: Educate and perform arts, host events, and provide a venue for artists.
Purpose: Offer a safe space for creation, collaboration, and performance, engaging the community through partnerships and outreach.
