Wright State University offers a unique undergraduate focus on preparing future professionals in the performing and creative arts, as well as careers that build upon the skills and experience our faculty and staff can offer. From the very beginning, with our competitive application and audition process, through the rigorous four-year schedule of coursework and performance opportunities, Wright State students learn what it takes to succeed.
Prospective students are invited to visit the department, watch a class, view a Wright State performance or film, and learn how our talented faculty and students refine their craft in six challenging academic programs leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Acceptance Rate:
While Wright State University has a general acceptance rate of 95%, the School of Fine and Performing Arts has a more selective process, with the BFA Acting program accepting roughly 10% of auditioning students and the Musical Theatre concentration accepting approximately 3%.

Loosely based on Euripides' tragedy Medea, and set on the bleak, ghostly Irish landscape of the Bog of Cats, this provocative drama discloses one woman's courageous attempts to lay claim to that which is hers, as her world is torn in two. This area premiere opens Spring offerings to the public on the Festival Stage.

Dayton Performing Arts Alliance presents An Evening of Sondheim as part of the SuperPops Series Friday, January 20, and Saturday, January 21, at 7:30 pm in the Mead Theater of the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. Students from Wright State University's School of Fine and Performing Arts join the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Conductor Patrick Reynolds to perform popular songs by music theatre legend Stephen Sondheim.
