Explore your theatrical expression and develop the technical and narrative skills needed for a successful and rewarding career in acting and directing.
Baldwin Wallace's theatre major integrates extensive hands-on learning with comprehensive coursework. You'll build skills in acting, voice, movement, make-up, audition techniques, script analysis, directing, stage management and more.
Foundation courses in literature, history, performance, technical and collaborative studies help you develop analytical skills and insights into professional theatre. Small class sizes, individual attention and faculty mentoring are at the core of the program. You’ll be encouraged to participate in professional apprenticeship opportunities nationally and abroad.
BW faculty are practicing professionals with contacts at Cleveland’s Great Lakes Theater, Cleveland Public Theatre, Beck Center for the Arts and Dobama Theatre, as well as Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.
Through these opportunities, you'll gain experience, earn Equity points, network and build an impressive resume. On campus, you can get involved in theatrical productions through performance, design and construction, production, management and marketing.
With both proscenium and black box theatres, BW offers traditional and contemporary audience settings that provide a variety of learning environments, including theatre in-the-round, thrust staging and more.

Following an incredible world premiere response at Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival this spring, the largest documentary festival in North America, the festival circuit has been abuzz with talk of Willie, the inspiring documentary sharing the story of NHL legend Willie O'Ree. The thoroughly moving original documentary Willie will make its U.S. premiere this weekend at the carefully curated awards season film festival hub on the east coast -- Middleburg Film Festival. Willie, programmed alongside such early hot ticket awards titles will next head to Los Angeles for DTLA Film Festival where this jewel of a documentary will be spotlighted for enthusiastic audiences.
Solo Exhibition Of Professor Yuhua Shouzhi Wang, International Artist, Amazes Art World At Palais Du Louvre

Xingyi Gu, Professor of Guangzhou University School of Humanities announced that Professor Yuhua Shouzhi Wang's solo art exhibition 'Seeing Two Worlds in One Flower' was held at Palais du Louvre in Paris between October 10 and 12. Professor Yuhua Shouzhi Wang is a world-renowned painter. Throughout Asia, she is the only artist to whom the New York Academy of Art conferred the title of international preeminent artist of first class standing. The exhibition is located at the Hall des Marechaux of the Musee des Arts Decoratifs.

Rensselaer Orchestra and An Ensemble Of Students At Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute To Performa At Carnegie Hall

On October 24, the Rensselaer Orchestra, an ensemble of students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, will make a historic debut performance at Carnegie Hall. Hosted by DCINY and under the direction of Maestro Nicholas DeMaison, the ensemble will perform Missy Mazzoli's River Rouge Transfiguration and Jean Sibelius's Symphony No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 82. The performance celebrates the launch of Rensselaer's new Bachelor of Science degree in Music and is part of an evening of activities in support of student scholarships.
