The successful Hungarian run of the musical Elisabeth continues from 2012 with new cast. It is a real cult favourite, which is truly a must-see for everyone!
Elisabeth is still one of the most iconic female figures of the modern history of Europe. This exceptional woman, who was one of the first beauty icons and was celebrated all over the world, who shaped the history of Europe while mingling into horse races, who travelled round the globe because she wanted to escape and hide away from her responsibilities, who wrote wonderful poetry, and whose life ended in a tragic way was destined to became a legend.
This musical tells the story of someone who feels very close to us. It is easy to be carried away by its bittersweet and enchanting storyline, which puts an end to the sentimental Sissi interpretations and the mushy nostalgia of the Franz Joseph-era. The play tells of the deepest secrets of the Elisabeth-myth: of her endless strive for freedom and of the fulfilment of an extraordinary destiny.
