Albie Sachs, Fathers, Sons and Soft Vengeance is a one-person play written by Gail Louw, directed by Fiona Ramsay, and starring Graham Hopkins. The play honors activist, survivor, and constitutional architect Albie Sachs, weaving together his experiences of the bomb attack he endured, his relationship with trauma, and his bonds as a son and father. It traces his lifelong commitment to justice, from marching against apartheid at 17 to his vision of "soft vengeance" — a democratic and just South Africa — and his later-in-life experience of fatherhood. The production is presented by Troupe Theatre Company and the Baxter Theatre in association with Daphne Kuhn, playing at Theatre on the Square, Sandton from 6 to 24 May 2026.
