Pacific Opera Project will continue its 2021-2022 fairytale-themed opera season with an outdoor, family-friendly production of Englebert Humperdinck's iconic opera Hansel and Gretel. at one of its favorite venues, Forest Lawn Glendale, for performances on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 5:00pm; Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 5:00pm; Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 5:00pm; and Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 5:00pm. This past weekend First Stage opened GRETEL!, a new folk rock musical developed as part of the First Stage Foundry Stage Series. It combines the tale of Hansel and Gretel with VASILISA THE BRAVE (the Russian Cinderella) into a story family audiences will find both compelling and inspiring. Directed by Artistic Director Jeff Frank and showing First Stage's commitment to developing new work, this folk rock musical runs now through March 22 at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center.

The King's Head Theatre and Charles Court Opera are have announced the full cast for The Nativity Panto – A Not-So Silent Night, starring Emily Cairns, Meriel Cunningham, Jennie Jacobs, Matthew Kellett and Catrine Kirkman. The panto runs from 29 November 2019 to 11 January 2020, with a press night on Tuesday 3 December 2019.

Opera San José is launching the holidays with a family-friendly production of Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel that offers treats to go along with this irresistible fairy tale. Kids who attend will not only enjoy a fully produced opera, but will also receive a small gift upon entrance, treats, and opportunities to interact with costumed characters and be photographed in fun, fairy tale settings in the lobby. 

Madison Lyric Stage, an award-winning, professional theater company serving the Connecticut Shoreline, will present the classic fairytale opera Hansel and Gretel October 4–13 at the historic Deacon John Grave House in Madison, CT. This will be an immersive production for a limited audience per performance.
