According to Comingsoon.net, Zendaya has been casted as a lead character named Michelle in Marvel Studios upcoming Spider-Man reboot!

Spider-Man, one of the world's most beloved superheroes, will once again come to IMAX Theatres for a network-wide event run when the film is released in theaters on its new worldwide date on July 7, 2017, it was announced today by Josh Greenstein, president of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution for Sony Pictures, Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, and Greg Foster, Senior Executive Vice President, IMAX Corp. and CEO of IMAX Entertainment. As the movie, which Sony Pictures Entertainment is teaming with Marvel Studios to produce, enters wide release, it will also be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX 3D format. The highly anticipated next installment in the $4 billion franchise, which will star Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, will be directed by Jon Watts and produced by Feige and Amy Pascal.

BroadwayWorld previously reported that Sony Pictures had cast Tom Holland (BILLY ELLIOT) as the title role in the next SPIDER-MAN film, replacing Garfield who starred in the last two. In a recent interview with ET, Garfield could not gush enough about Holland's talents. 'I'm really excited to just be a fan again as opposed to bearing the weight of it.' Today in 2011, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark opened at the Foxwoods Theatre, where it ran for 1066 performances. Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is a rock musical with music and lyrics by U2's Bono and The Edge and a book by Julie Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. The musical is based on the Spider-Man comics created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, published by Marvel Comics, as well as the 2002 film about the character and the Greek myth of Arachne. lt tells the story of the origin of the character, his romance with Mary Jane and his battles with the evil Green Goblin.

Disney XD has ordered two new action-packed seasons of the popular animated series on the Marvel programming block – continuing the adventures of Earth's Mightiest Heroes with 'Marvel's Avengers: Ultron Revolution' and introducing a new band of villains in 'Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister 6.' Produced by Marvel Television, both series deliver the biggest, most explosive seasons yet with some of Marvel's most aspirational super heroes facing off against some of the greatest threats in the Marvel Universe. Both of the new seasons are currently in production and slated to premiere in 2016 on Marvel on Disney XD.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that Lancaster, Pa.'s American Music Theatre has agreed not to proceed with their planned production -- BROADWAY: NOW & FOREVER -- which would have featured aspects from SPIDER-MAN, MARY POPPINS and THE LION KING for which the company had no license to reproduce.

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark producer Michael Cohl revealed that the show will n fact not be opening in Las Vegas. Instead an arena tour is in the works for 'late 2015 or winter 2016.' He told WSJ: "I think Spider-man is a pop culture rock show that was meant to be in arenas." When asked about the recently cancelled Jesus Christ Superstar arena tour, another project with which he was affiliated, Cohl commented: "It was a disaster. Ticket sales were terrible."
