Pianist Chelsea Randall will perform six commissioned solo piano works inspired by Black Arts Movement poetry at Brooklyn's Dweck Center, with Michigan Poet Laureate Melba Joyce Boyd among special guests.

Center Stage Records announced the release of the PICNIC AT HANGING ROCK: THE MUSICAL original Off-Broadway cast recording, featuring music by Greta Gertler Gold and lyrics by Hilary Bell, with a UK premiere planned for 2027.

BroadwayWorld talks with WICKED alumn Carmen Cusack, who will headline BACK TO OZ: From The Wonderful Wizard to The Wiz to Wicked at the Mark Taper Forum April 18–26.

The Orange Girls and St. Louis Actors’ Studio’s The Half-Life of Marie Curie is a beautiful work. The production brings together all the design elements of a play into an artistic expression of friendship and feminism through intelligent story telling. It is flawlessly directed, convincingly acted, and meticulously executed. Its originality, integrity, honesty, and impact would make any Nobel prize winning scientist proud.

MUSE/IQUE will present BACK TO OZ, tracing Oz from the 1939 MGM film to THE WIZ to WICKED, at the Mark Taper Forum in April 2026, led by Artistic Director Rachael Worby.

Park University International Center for Music will present pianist Behzod Abduraimov on May 1 at the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kan., closing its 2025-26 concert season. Tickets are $30 for the public and $10 for students.

Minha Estrela Dalva is not a conventional biography, but an imagined encounter between artist and muse. Onstage, Renato Borghi steps into the dressing room of legendary singer Dalva de Oliveira to fulfill a lifelong dream: inviting the “Queen of Radio” to perform the songs of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill. Blending memory and fantasy, the production—directed by Elias Andreato and Elcio Nogueira Seixas—brings together past and present in a poetic theatrical dialogue. Soraya Ravenle portrays Dalva at once as myth and woman, while Ivan Vellame embodies key figures from her personal life. With evocative music, movement, and striking visuals, the show reveals both the icon and the human story behind one of Brazil’s greatest voices.

For me, the message of this play is that family is the most important thing. Having, keeping, and surviving those family ties and those memories.

Park University's International Center for Music (ICM) will present its spring concert on April 17, featuring guest conductor Jason Seber. The event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel located on the university's Parkville Campus. While admission is free, attendees are encouraged to RSVP to ensure seating availability. This concert provides an opportunity for the community to experience a high-caliber orchestral performance in an academic setting.

Strange Fruit, directed by Venus Cuffs at Joe's Pub on 2/26, is a multimedia protest performance inspired by Billie Holiday's 1939 anti-lynching anthem. An all-LGBTQIA+ cast of Black artists explores resilience and resistance.

Opera Orlando will present THE SECRET RIVER March 6 and 7 at Mead Botanical Garden. The outdoor production features music by Stella Sung and a libretto by Mark Campbell, based on the novel by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings.

Pleasantville theater company Arc Stages' Community Stage will present Sondheim's A Little Night Music. Set in 1900 Sweden, A Little Night Music explores the tangled web of affairs centered around actress Desirée Armfeldt, and the men who love her.

Hofstra University's Department of Drama and Dance will present A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, exploring a complex web of romantic entanglements in 1900 Sweden. Directed by Keith Michael Pinault, the production features a waltz-infused score and runs from March 6-14 at the Toni and Martin Sosnoff Theater.

When I think of Steppenwolf, I often think of family members crying, screaming at one another, or some combination of the two. So the sparring between spouses Alice and Captain Edgar in August Strindberg’s 1900 play THE DANCE OF DEATH feels right at home. In a surprisingly funny and sharp version from accomplished Irish playwright Conor McPherson and direction from Steppenwolf ensemble member Yasen Peyankov, Kathryn Erbe and Jeff Perry go toe-to-toe as a troubled married couple about to celebrate their silver anniversary.
