Goodman Theatre adds to its 2018/2019 Season a limited engagement of St. Nicholas-an internationally-acclaimed major revival by London's Donmar Warehouse of Conor McPherson's 1997 intimate thriller, directed by Simon Evans. The monologue play stars Olivier Award-winning actor Brendan Coyle ("Mr. Bates" of the smash sensation Downton Abbey, for which he earned an Emmy Award nomination) in "a superlative, mesmerizing performance that's simply not to be missed" (The Arts Review). The U.S. premiere, which appears in the Goodman's 350-seat flexible Owen Theatre, follows two acclaimed recent appearances at the Donmar Warehouse and the Dublin Theatre Festival. The creative team includes Peter McKintosh (Set), Matt Daw (Lighting) and Christopher Shutt (Sound). Goodman Theatre's limited engagement of St. Nicholas appears January 9 - 27, 2019 in the Owen Theatre (170 N. Dearborn). Irish Theatre of Chicago has announced its 2016-17 Season, featuring a modern Irish classic, a Midwest premiere and a new staged reading festival of the works of emerging Irish playwrights.

Irish Theatre of Chicago has announced its 2016-17 Season, featuring a modern Irish classic, a Midwest premiere and a new staged reading festival of the works of emerging Irish playwrights.

Writers Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Michael Halberstam and Executive Director Kathryn M. Lipuma, announces a one-week extension to Company, featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by George Furth. The production is directed by William Brown. Company features original orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick, Orchestral Reductions by Ian Weinberger, music direction by Tom Vendafreddo and choreography by Brock Clawson. The show, originally slated to run through July 31, 2016, will add an additional week, through August 7, in the Alexandra C. and John D. Nichols Theatre at 325 Tudor Court, Glencoe.

On Sunday May 1, 2016, to kick off National Hepatitis Awareness month, the Al D. Rodriguez Liver Foundation (ADRLF) will host The Disco Bowl Spring Fling Benefit. The event will be hosted by the Emmy Award-winning television personality, Carson Kressley (Dancing with the Stars, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy); and will feature a disco-inspired musical performance by Broadway's sizzling Discoettes: After Midnight's Carmen Ruby Floyd, Amazing Grace's Harriett D. Yale Repertory Theatre opens its 2015-16 season with the world premiere of INDECENT, a new play with music, written by Paula Vogel, created by Paula Vogel and Rebecca Taichman, and directed by Rebecca Taichman, at the University Theatre (222 York Street), now through October 24. Opening Night is tonight, October 8. The world premiere of INDECENT is a co-production with La Jolla Playhouse, where it will play November 13-December 10.
