BroadwayWorld is saddened to learn of the passing of playwright and performer Andy Halliday. Halliday passed away at age 73, and was known for his work Off-Broadway, and with longtime friend Charles Busch.

The National Theatre announced further casting and dates for its 2026 season, including Cate Blanchett in ELECTRA/PERSONA, Anne-Marie Duff in SOME WOMAN, and new casts for CLOUD 9 and THE RISE AND FALL OF LITTLE VOICE.

The LA Phil has revealed the 2026 Hollywood Bowl summer season with performances at the world-renowned amphitheater in the Hollywood Hills from June to September 2026.

The Royal Opera House’s Turandot has now been running so long it feels less like a revival and more like a listed structure. You don’t attend it so much as pass through it, like a familiar corridor or a particularly grand roundabout. With close to 300 performances under its belt and two runs in this calendar year alone, this production has become the most frequently staged opera in Europe, second only to Zeffirelli’s La Bohème at the Met in the global endurance league. If cockroaches ever start staging Puccini after the apocalypse, this is the version they’ll use.

Into the Woods is a Tony Award-winning 1986 Musical written by Stephen Sondheim (Music/Lyrics) and James Lapine (Book), marking their second collaboration following Sunday in the Park with George (1984). Into the Woods premiered in 1986 at San Diego’s Old Globe Theatre and then was followed by a Broadway transfer in 1987 which amassed three Tony Awards (Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actress. A year in which many know the “Great White Way,” was dominated by The Phantom of the Opera.

Award winning playwright Charles Evered’s play “Adopt a Sailor” has been on a nationwide tour since 2018 to garner support for the Evered House, the playwright’s non-profit that supports creative military members and others who serve.

Riding on a crest of overwhelmingly positive reviews of their new single and video 'WHERE ARE YOU?', UK's legendary post-punk band THE CHAMELEONS have added another leg of U.S. dates to their current tour celebrating their groundbreaking 1986 album Strange Times.

The Almeida Theatre has announced casting for Eline Arbo’s The Years and the Angry and Young season. 

The iconic post-punk band The Chameleons have announced a new three-song EP, which mark their first new studio recordings in over 20 years. An artful combination that embraces their past work while opening their arms for artistic expansion, “Where Are You?” fits neatly into the band’s oeuvre. The band is currently preparing for a round of North American dates beginning on May 30th in San Diego.

Lyric Hammersmith Theatre has announced the full cast and creative team for the UK premiere of Alice Childress’ Wedding Band:  A Love/Hate Story in Black and White, directed by Stage Debut Award winner Monique Touko, who returns to the Lyric after the smash-hit production of School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play.
