Since its 1980 debut in Paris, Les Misérables has transcended the medium of musical theatre to become a global cultural force.

Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating its 41st season as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, kicks off the summer with 'Evita,' playing July 5 to July 19. Featuring a live band and a cast of talented local actors, performances take place outdoors under the stars at the Richter Arts Center

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Boublil and Schönberg's musical sensation LES MISÉRABLES, a special company of artists will join the cast, who have been part of Les Mis history.

The trend continues of bringing a musical superstar's life to the Broadway stage in a jukebox bio-musical style. The flashy and often heartfelt Broadway tour settled onto the stage of Shea's Buffalo Theatre last night to an enthusiastic ovation.

On February 21, 2025, Global Sevilla Pulo Mas put on a production of Lutung Kasarung: The Warrior’s Heart. This musical production is an adaptation of the Sundanese legend Lutung Kasarung. Banyu headed the show as its director, scriptwriter, and songwriter. He collaborated with Nindya Tri Harbanu and Muhammad Nur Muhammady as music directors, as well as Christina Sekar and Rajasa Rahaditya as co-directors (Christina Sekar also served as the dance coordinator).

Some of the shows that the Orpheum has been best known for are Stomp, which ran there for an astounding 29 years, from 1994 to 2023, and the original production of Little Shop of Horrors which spent over five years at the theater from 1982 to 1987. 

Luis A. Miranda, Jr. and Dr. Luz Towns-Miranda were honored at the New York Landmarks Conservancy's 'Living Landmarks' celebration, recognizing their contributions to the community.

Incorporating many elements of traditional puppet shows, Alex and Olmsted's newest piece, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MON AMI, is a miniature adventure in Paree, er, Paris. It tiny, enchanting and exquisite, like a chocolate truffle in a gleaming box. Much of this script is adult-targeted, but it IS suitable for children, even young ones.

The Paul Taylor Dance Company's 2023 Season at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center, from October 31 through November 12, will include fourteen dances by five choreographers – Ulysses Dove, Amy Hall Garner, Larry Keigwin, Lauren Lovette, and Paul Taylor – and feature world premieres by Lovette, PTDC's Resident Choreographer, and Keigwin, Taylor Company Commissioned choreographer.
