The blockbuster musical WICKED is offering its fans access to 'Defy Gravity' in the WICKED hot air balloon with a donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

WICKED, the musical that reminds us that so much happened before Dorothy dropped in OZ, is visiting Houston's Hobby Center for the Performing Arts for the fourth time this summer. There is no denying that excitement is growing in Houston. Billboards for the show line our highways, commercials play on our TVs and radios, and everyone is buzzing about the much-loved musical. Recently, I chatted with Alex Wyse, who joined the cast as Boq on June 6, 2013. He took a few minutes out of his busy tour and performance schedule to chat with me about WICKED and his incredible career.

Emmy Award-winner Carol Kane will return to the Broadway production of Wicked as Madame Morrible, starting performances tonight, July 1, 2013. Ms. Kane has previously performed the role on Broadway, in Los Angeles, and on tour.

Last night, June 18, WICKED's current cast members, including Lindsay Mendez (Elphaba) and Derek Klena (Fiyero) gathered at the Gershwin theatre to commemorate the show's the 4,000th performance. BroadwayWorld was there for the special celebration and you can check out full photo coverage below!

Lindsay Mendez and Derek Klena recently joined the cast of Wicked, assuming the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero. They join a cast which includes Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda, Randy Danson as Madame Morrible, Adam Grupper as The Wizard, Catherine Charlebois as Nessarose, F. Michael Haynie as Boq, and John Schiappa as Dr. Dillamond. Check out a first look at the duo in action below!

Following BroadwayWorld's Student Center Classroom two-part series 'Behind the Scenes at Wicked' with Marybeth Abel, the production stage manager wrote to BWW to tell us that it had drawn 'quite the following of enthusiastic kids'. In response, Abel and her colleague at Wicked Christy Ney will now be offering a Stage Management One Day Intensive on August 4th, 2013.

In a phone interview with Mlive.com, Marc Platt, producer of the long-running Broadway musical WICKED, confirmed that the show will be adapted into a full-length feature film. 'For sure, there will be a movie. I just can't say when,' he affirmed.

The company of the first North American tour of Wicked has just announced that joining the show will be Jenn Gambatese as Glinda on Tuesday, February 26 in Costa Mesa, CA and Curt Hansen as Fiyero on Wednesday, March 20 in Tucson, AZ.
