McAninch Arts Center, located at 425 Fawell Blvd. on the campus of College of DuPage (COD), presents the 2018 Lakeside Pavilion Free Outdoor Summer Series. Programming runs July 12-Aug.10 and includes a Thursday evening Family Movie Series, the Thursday evening WDCB Live Jazz Concert Series and a Friday evening Pop Music Series. One of the highlights of the Friday evening series promises to be the July 20 New Philharmonic pops concert, which will be simulcast on Facebook Live for the second year in a row. New for this season: To help insure everyone's safety in light of the growing popularity of the series, seating for films and evening concerts will begin at 6 p.m. No admittance will be allowed prior to 6 p.m. for sound check and security reasons.  Admission to Lakeside Pavilion Summer Series events and parking is always free.

Adapted from Elliott's 1994 Oscar-winning film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the musical is the heart-warming, uplifting adventure of three friends who hop aboard a battered old bus searching for love and friendship and end up finding more than they could have ever dreamed of. With a dazzling array of over-the-top costumes, extraordinary headdresses, A FULL SIZE BUS - ON STAGE, and a hit parade of dance floor favorites, this wildly fresh and funny musical is a journey to the heart of FABULOUS.

The International Festival of Arts & Ideas today announced complete details for Festival 2018, which opens on June 9 and continues for two weeks through June23 in New Haven, Connecticut.

Goodman Theatre celebrates the lives of "two strong, vibrant women dispensing joy and wisdom" (Chicago Tribune) in a major revival of Emily Mann's Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years. Directed by the Goodman's longtime Resident Director Chuck Smith, the production features Ella Joyce and Marie Thomas as the Delany centenarians, Bessie (1891 - 1995) and Sadie (1889 -1999), respectively. The sisters were discovered in 1991 when Amy Hill Hearth interviewed them for The New York Times. Following the article, the trio co-authored the book, Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years-a New York Times bestseller and heartfelt reflection of their family history and triumphs over prejudices in times of social unrest. Mann adapted it for the stage, first at McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton, New Jersey and then to Broadway, where it ran for 317 performances. Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years appears May 5 - June 10, 2018 in the Albert Theatre (opening night is Monday, May 14). Gruessing, Jr.. DIRTY BLONDE will perform six performances only, Thursday, April 26 through Sunday, April 29 at Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

The Grammy-nominated Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, which captures the infectious fun of big band music, will perform at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) on Thursday, April 5 at 8:00pm.  Jazz Times called the Los Angeles-based band, with a 32-year history, "one of current jazz's most vital large ensemble." Co-founder bassist John Clayton is a CSUN alumnus who has gone on to play with superstars such as Michael Jackson, Patti LaBelle and Madonna.

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, announces a change in programming in its current season. The theater will present Songbird, written by Michael Kimmel (The Last Goodbye) with music and lyrics by Lauren Pritchard (Spring Awakening), directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch (The Last Match, Animal), from June 9-July 1. Songbird will be presented by special arrangement with Allison Bressi and Diana Buckhantz.

Blue Note Hawaii welcomes some of music's most renowned artists this month, continuing the Hawaii News Now Jazz Legends series with Tony and GRAMMY (R) Award-winning jazz vocalist Dee Dee Bridgewater and epic drummer Billy Cobham. Jazz virtuoso guitarist Earl Klugh returns, jazz fusion saxophonist Boney James and reggae giants Big Mountain close the month. Local artists this month include Kuana Torres Kahele, Josh Kaye and Friends featuring Riya Davis in a tribute to Jill Scott, a tribute to the Miles Davis First Great Quintet with DeShannon Higa & QuadPod, Amy Hanaiali'i, and a tribute to Antonio Carlos Jobim with Sandy Tsukiyama and friends. Mike Lewis will present tribute shows to Duke Ellington and Natalie Cole featuring songstress Ginai and John Kolivas will host a tribute to the music of Stevie Wonder. The genre-bending Augie Rey makes his Blue Note Hawaii debut and Tavana returns to the stage by popular demand.

From February 16 to March 5, The Morningside Players will present Carol Carter and Edythe Jason in 'Having Our Say: The Delaney Sisters' First 100 Years' by Emily Mann, adapted from the book by Sarah H. Delany and A. Elizabeth Delany. It will be the inaugural theater production at North of History, a new performance/gallery space founded by Gene Kaufman that is located at 445 Columbus Ave. (between 81st and 82nd Street). Edgar Chisholm directs.

For one night only, October 7, 2017, six award-winning tap artists, connected through their Broadway background in Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk, reunite to celebrate their art form in the newly renovated Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. Featuring D.C. natives Joseph Webb and Baakari Wilder along with Omar Edwards, Dormeshia Sumbry-Edwards, Derick K. Grant, and Jason Samuels Smith, this unique performance is choreographed to honor the roots of tap dance, their predecessors, and each other, all to live jazz music by the Lafayette Harris Jr. Quintet.

The Artistic Home will open its 2017-18 season with a lesser known, but wholly timely piece: WEDDING BAND: A LOVE/HATE STORY IN BLACK AND WHITE, by eminent African-American playwright and author Alice Childress. It will open to the press Sunday, October 29 at 7:00 pm, following previews from October 25 - 28.
