The Country Music Association's acclaimed CMA Songwriters Series Presented by U.S. Bank has announced a performance in Charlotte at the McGlohon Theater at Spirit Square Wednesday, Aug. 7 featuring Russell Dickerson, Lindsay Ell, Jordan Reynolds and Frank Rogers. The series hosts an intimate round of performances with some of Country Music's top songwriting talent taking turns sharing the stories behind their hit songs and performing them as originally written. Tickets for the performance start at $15 plus service fees and go on sale Friday, July 12 at 10:00 AMET at Blumenthal Performing Arts. $1 of each ticket sold will benefit the CMA Foundation, CMA's philanthropic arm, which is committed to improving and sustaining high quality music education programs across the United States.

HISTORY announces the return of Car Week with the unprecedented 3-hour live television event 'Evel Live 2' where jaws will once again drop as two motorcycle daredevils attempt to cheat death and make history on HISTORY on Sunday, July 7 beginning at 8pm ET. Inspired by the legendary stunts of daredevil Evel Knievel, the live broadcast produced in partnership with Nitro Circus will follow two athletes, renowned freestyle motocross athlete Axell Hodges and four-time X Games Medalist Vicki Golden, as they aim to set new world records with three epic motorcycle stunts. Professional motorsports icon, Travis Pastrana will co-host and Matt Iseman ('America Ninja Warrior') will return to host the special. 'Evel Live 2' will broadcast live from the San Bernardino International Airport in California.

The Eisemann Center and the City of Richardson announced the 2019-2020 Season of Eisemann Center Presents (ECP) at the Annual Season Preview Party on Thursday, May 9, 2019. The season includes our two full subscription series: Jeffrey Siegel's Keyboard Conversations with a total of four concerts; and the Family Theatre Series with four productions and the accompanying immersive children's program Eisemann Extras. In addition we have 16 diverse productions ranging from superstar Mandy Patinkin to Asleep At The Wheel on their 50th Anniversary Tour and America's Got Talent favorite, deaf singer Mandy Harvey all returning to the Eisemann Center this season.

IFC Center today announced an impressive and wide-ranging lineup for the third annual Split Screens Festival (www.splitscreensfestival.com) taking place Wednesday, May 29 through Monday, June 3, 2019, at the IFC Center in New York City. The festival consists of special events offering a variety of looks at history, identity and the mystery of existence itself, including panels on series that explore dystopian realities and alternate timelines, and screenings that transport us into any number of time periods and places, be it a late-1800s South Dakota town or the height of 1980s ballroom culture in New York City.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley announces a special post-show political forum for its production of the Tony and Olivier Award-nominated drama Frost/Nixon. Following the 2pm performance of Frost/Nixon on Saturday, February 2 at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts, audiences are invited to discuss the history and current relevance of the Watergate scandal with Dr. Theodore Glasser of Stanford University and Dr. Terri Bimes of University of California Berkeley in a conversation moderated by Cameron Wells, the assistant director of Frost/Nixon. Glasser, a professor emeritus of Communication whose research specializes in media practices and press accountability, and Bimes, a lecturer and Assistant Director of Research for the Institute of Governmental Studies who teaches about the presidency, will bring their unique perspectives to this free political forum, open to audience members and community members.
