Two River Theater is now presenting William Shakespeare's romantic comedy 'Twelfth Night' directed by Sara Holdren with original songs composed by the band/theater collective, The Lobbyists. As a gesture of respect from one consummate showman to another, legendary musician PETER MURPHY has announced that he will be performing a special tribute to the late, great DAVID BOWIE on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at San Francisco's The Chapel. As the final show of his two week residency in which he will perform his solo albums in their entirety plus three 'Mr. Moonlight' sets of Bauhaus music, Peter will honor the music of the Starman by performing songs selected from Bowie's catalog. Says Peter of the show, 'Now that all and sundry have fallen off the David Bowie tribute band wagon, I thought I'd do my own.'

The Specials, one of the most electrifying, influential and important bands of all time, have just released their new album Encore, their first new music in 37 years via Island Records. The album's arrival has been welcomed with widespread critical acclaim and an acknowledgement that The Specials' music is every bit as vital and relevant today as it was 40 years ago. This year also marks the 40th anniversary of the formation of The Specials and the legendary Two-Tone label in Coventry in 1979, and also marks 10 years since the band reformed to play some of the most vital and joyous live shows in recent memory.

The Bickford Theatre at the Morris Museum is pleased to present Billy Bishop Goes to War with book, music, and lyrics by John Gray and Eric Peterson from November 10 - 18, 2018.  David Girard stars as Billy Bishop and Michael Musial as the accompanist. A new musical is being developed by a Nova Scotian writing team that will feature songs originally made famous by Anne Murray, the Grammy-award-winning singer from Springhill, Nova Scotia. The show just underwent a 2-week developmental workshop in Halifax with an 11-member cast of actors. The workshop culminated in a staged reading presentation at the Bella Rose Arts Centre this past Friday. 

Madeleine Potter and Donald Sage Mackay complete the cast for the forthcoming West End Premiere of Pulitzer Prize-winner Sam Shepard's ferociously funny, modern classic, True West. They will join the previously announced Kit Harington - renowned for his leading role in the internationally acclaimed series Game of Thrones - and Johnny Flynn - star of the widely celebrated film Beast and US TV series Genius, and who received rave reviews for his performance in the New York transfer of Hangmen, in the first UK production of Shepard's work since his death last summer. True West will play a limited season at the Vaudeville Theatre from Friday 23 November - Saturday 16 February (Press Night: Tuesday 4 December at 7:00pm).

This remarkable new album features stunningly reimagined orchestrated versions of Ultravox hits and Midge Ure classics including 'Vienna', 'Dancing with Tears In My Eyes', and 'If I Was'. Musician, singer-songwriter, producer and activist, Midge Ure has worn many musical hats over the years; however, working on a fully orchestrated album has been a new venture for Midge. Said Midge: 'The record took eighteen months to make, but a lifetime of work to achieve.' The set will be released by BMG on CD and clear vinyl.                                                                                                                                         

The Old Globe's 2017-2018 Season continues with today's announcement of the complete cast and creative team for the Southern California debut of A Thousand Splendid Suns, Ursula Rani Sarma's sweeping and deeply moving theatrical production based on the best-selling book by Khaled Hosseini (The Kite Runner). Directed by Carey Perloff and presented in association with American Conservatory Theater, A Thousand Splendid Suns will run May 12 - June 17, 2018 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage, Old Globe Theatre, Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale to the general public now. Previews run May 12-16. Opening night is Thursday, May 17 at 8:00 p.m.
