Clocktower Players, resident theater company of the landmark Irvington Town Hall Theater, announces its 2018-19 Season line-up of diverse Tony Award-winners, classic musical favorites, and a deeply moving play that's as relevant as ever.

When the famous musical film “Mary Poppins” premiered in 1964, no one could have predicted the important role it would play in film history. Starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, the film combined live action animation with songs written and composed by the Sherman Brothers. Mary Poppins, played by Julie Andrews in her feature film debut, also produced one of film's most memorable songs of all time. There isn't anyone who has seen the Disney classic that can't walk away to whistle or sing those famous lyrics - “Just a Spoonful of Sugar Helps the Medicine Go Down…”

In honor of Artistic Director Michael Kahn's final season with the Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), the opening show of the 2018-2019 Season, William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, will feature beloved performers, many of whom have been with the Company since the very beginning.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. AstonRep Theatre Company is pleased to conclude its 2017-18 season with THE LARAMIE PROJECT, a community's deeply-moving response to the 1998 murder of gay University of Wyoming student Matthew Shepard, written by Moises Kaufman and the Members of Tectonic Theater Project and directed by Associate Artistic Director Derek Bertelsen. Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will host Druid, Ireland's most celebrated theatre company, and their critically acclaimed production of Waiting for Godot. Directed by Tony Award-winner Garry Hynes, Druid's production of Samuel Beckett's absurd, anarchic masterpiece will make its regional premiere at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street, NW) from April 17 through May 20, 2018 before it travels on to Chicago.

Veteran Broadway actor, Richard Waits, is bringing Jon-Marc McDonald's anticipated play, Relatively Conscious, to the stage in February at the New York Theater Festival. The play, which centers around the murder of James Byrd Jr in 1998, will run February 6, 7, and 10th at the Hudson Guild Theater in New York City.  

Legendary Who frontman and Woodstock '69 alum Roger Daltrey will be performing the band's most iconic masterpiece this summer, the groundbreaking TOMMY, on a special 10 city solo tour featuring full orchestral backing.
