The Virginia Arts Festival has announced the complete cast for The Sound of Music, co-produced by the Festival and the Virginia Opera May 13-15 at the Harrison Opera House.

BIRDLAND JAZZ CLUB will present Karen Mason in her show “Kander & Ebb…And All That Jazz” on Monday, March 28 at 7:00 PM. The evening honors John Kander and Fred Ebb, the Tony Award-winning songwriters behind Broadway’s Cabaret, Chicago and more.

The trio will appear in The Black Pack: We Three Kings and The Black Pack: Excellence, the first of which will premiere on November 29. The special will be a holiday-themed celebration with both classic and new music brought to life on stage. Jordin Sparks, Tank, and Sevyn Streeter will guest star.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are open this November with a full slate of nightly performances!  At Birdland Jazz Club, catch Bill Charlap Duets with Houston Person, Jon Faddis, Chris Potter and Ron Carter, Peter Cincotti, Jihye Lee Big Band, The Hot Sardines, and more.

To mark this year's festive winter season, Shoreditch Town Hall today announces Town Hall Unwrapped, a series of joyfully eclectic events taking over the building's many spaces throughout December.

The Festival will take place in venues across the city and county, as well as at the newly reopened Festival Gardens where a brand-new Festival music weekend is announced in collaboration with Wild Paths - Garden Sessions. The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!
