Prolific actor Reno Roop passed away Friday morning August 31 at his home in New York. He was 80. The cause of death was Parkinson's disease and Lewy body dementia.

Gloria McLean, President of the American Dance Guild, announced today the lineup for ADG Festival 2018, Visions Then and Now. Honors to choreographic luminaries Jane Comfort and the late Eleo Pomare will complement four days of performances by 34 multi-generational artists from across the United States. The Festival will take place October 25 through October 28 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 West 55th Street, in New York City.

Producer David Binder just announced today that Golden Globe Award Winner and Emmy Award Nominee Keri Russell will join three-time Emmy Award nominee Adam Driver in the first revival of Pulitzer Prize Winner Lanford Wilson's BURN THIS. Directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer, BURN THIS will begin performances in March 2019 at a Broadway theater to be announced.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, is presenting In Conversation: Jason Alexander, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 7:30PM.  This event will give audiences a behind-the-curtain look at Native Gardens, a new comedy by Karen Zacarias and directed by Mr. Alexander that will be performed at the Playhouse September 5 through 30.

Manoa Valley Theatre is celebrating its momentous 50th Anniversary with a play season filled with star-studded audience favorites, Broadway blockbusters and compelling dramas that herald the next half-century for the noted Off-Broadway playhouse. During its anniversary season, MVT will present a spectrum of multi- disciplinary experiences including musical comedies, historical dramas and audience participation events. The British Museum presents CRW Nevinson: Prints of War and Peace, a new display celebrating a selection of works documenting Nevinson's experiences during the First World War. This free show commemorates the centenary of Nevinson's substantial gift of 25 of his prints to the British Museum in 1918, with a number of works on display for the first time.

Model Tinu Verghis ruled the runway in India for 15 years before she ventured into performing arts. During her illustrious career as a model she had to her credit many important assignments such as being on the cover of Vogue when the magazine forayed into featuring dark skinned models. Recently, the model participated at South East Asia's famed art fair Art Stage 2018 in Singapore.

Tickets on sale today for two plays new to Los Angeles at the Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California.  Native Gardens, a new comedy by Karen Zacarias and directed by Jason Alexander performing September 5 to 30 (press opening September 9), and the West End production of its reigning hit, Susan Hill's The Woman in Black, performing October 17 to November 11 (press opening October 18).

Christmas welcomes the latest full-length play from Kieran Hurley - Mouthpiece (5-22 Dec), produced in association with HighTide - an unexpected, darkly comic and at times shocking story of two unlikely lives intertwined. After encountering each other on Salisbury Crags one evening, Libby and Declan form an uneasy friendship, complicated by class and culture - Libby spots an opportunity to put her writing career back on track, and tell a story that really matters. Mouthpiece takes a deeply personal look at the different Edinburghs which often exist in ignorance of one another, and examines whether it's possible to tell someone else's story without exploiting them. Orla O'Loughlin directs, marking her final production as Artistic Director before taking on the role of Vice-Principal and Director of Drama at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

The Second Street Players are proud to announce the 2019 Season. 2019 will showcase some classic stories along with  some new shows that have not been preformed in the area yet. There will be 5 Main Stage Shows and 3 Children's Theater shows. With this announcement the Second Street Players are also putting out a call to Directors. Anyone that is interested in directing one of the shows should submit a letter of intent by August 31, 2018.

A friendship between prominent historical figures is a fascinating subject, and reimagining their discussions about their shared experiences as well as their own areas of expertise can be grounds for great theatre. Unfortunately, while the concept is wonderful, the Hub Theatre's execution comes up short.

On Monday 9th of July, the musical She Loves Me celebrated their opening night at Dansmaker Theatre in Amsterdam. It's the second production by De Kernploeg, whose mission it is to bring American musicals to the Dutch audience, choosing productions which aren't as well-known and therefore might be commercially risky. After last year's production of A New Brain, this summer season will be brighted up by this smart and witty production of She Loves Me (book by Joe Masteroff, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and music by Jerry Bock.)
