Alan Johnson was truly a man of many talents. On Sunday, October 14th, 2018, friends, all of whom are either dancers, choreographers, directors or actors, or all combined, that have had the honor to work with or befriend him, gathered at The Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles, CA, owned by Joe Malone and Nanci Hammond Malone, two superb dancers/teachers that donated their facility for this event, to honor, reminisce and celebrate Alan's wondrous life and career.

Now directing his first major show for the Kansas City Repertory Theatre is Interim Artistic Director Jason Chanos. Chanos has been the Associate Artistic Director at the Rep since 2015 in addition to teaching acting at UMKC. He holds a BA from the University of Northern Colorado and an MFA from UMKC.
Opening on Friday, October 26 (after a week in previews) is the UMKC/KCRep co-production of Steinbeck's 1937 "Of Mice And Men" at the Copaken Theatre inside the H&R Block Building in downtown Kansas City.

A show from the steppes of Kazakhstan is coming to the largest theater festival of solo performances United Solo in New York City. The show made by ethnic Koreans who's first language is Russian will be presented at the Theatre Row on October 27th at 4PM. This monodrama is written and performed by Anatoliy Ogay and directed by Tatyana Kim, artists from Kazakhstan whose works have been performed from Eurasia to North America. The premiere of OTOSOTR took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan with three successful sold-out shows in May 2018. Later in August the solo show was presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as part of the Underbelly's most successful year at the fringe. OTOSOTR won an Asian Arts Award in the category "Innovative Theatre" at the festival and was highly reviewed by the main media outlets of the UK.
