Spring's rebirth in March invites magical thoughts of budding romance. A beloved multi-award winning musical rom-com, She Loves Me, sings in the sunny emotions and weather at Anoka's Lyric Arts. The playful musical first ran on Broadway in 1963, and was translated from Miklos Laszlo's 1937 play "Parfumerie." Joe Masteroff's book partnered with music composed by Jerry Bock together with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, capture the perfect notes to a tangled romance between two store clerks, Amalia and Georg, in 1934 Budapest. The two clash on the small boutique's floor while unknowingly sending each other letters to 'Dear Friend (Yes, they used real snail mail).

50 days before The Old Vic turns 200, the theatre announces a host of celebratory activities, from free performances and a family-focused open house with comedy, stage make up demonstrations, puppetry workshops and a marching band; to a cabaret Birthday Variety Night. Birthday celebrations will run from Friday 11 May (the actual birthday) until Sunday 13 May, during which time The Old Vic's doors will be open to as many people as possible.

The Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) tonight announced winners of its Annual Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards in 23 categories of film, television, commercials and live theater. Winners in the film categories include "DARKEST HOUR," "PITCH PERFECT 3," "I, TONYA" and "GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol 2." Television winners include "GAME OF THRONES," "DANCING WITH THE STARS," "THE CROWN," "BIG LITTLE LIES," "FEUD: BETTE AND JOAN" and "AMERICAN HORROR STORY: CULT." Winners in the Daytime Television category were awarded to "THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL.' "HENRY DANGER" wins Best Children/Teen Program. Theatrical honors go to MAMMA MIA and the Commercial/ Music Video Award was presented to AMERICAN HORROR STORY: CULT - PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN.

In a show that calls all lovers to the Playhouse Downtown, nationally renowned performer, Guy LeMonnier, returns to the Playhouse as Hendersonville's own personal Cupid for a weekend jam-packed with Valentine fun for everyone. Last seen in the Playhouse's 2017 hit, Music of the Night: The Songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber, LeMonnier joins the Music on the Rock band for a night full of his favorite love songs, especially for you and yours. Gershwin talent is inimitable; in 1932, Of Thee I Sing was the first musical to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. George wrote the orchestral piece, An American in Paris, in 1928, inspired by the time he spent in Paris. In 1951, MGM released the musical film An American in Paris. It won Best Picture Oscar. Directed by Vincente Minnelli (Judy Garland's husband), the film featured many tunes of Gershwin, and concluded with an extensive, elaborate dance sequence built around the An American in Paris symphonic poem. The 2015 stage musical, AN AMERICAN IN PARIS won four Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, a Drama League Award, two Theatre World Awards, four Drama Desk Awards, three Fred and Adele Astaire Awards.
