Cincinnati Music Theatre (CMT) is pleased to announce the casting of NOTHING LIKE A DAME: A Cabaret of Broadway's Leading Ladies at the Aronoff Center's intimate Fifth-Third Bank Theater on June 8-9 and 15-16 (see detailed schedule below). CMT has attracted some of the area's top local talent and theatre veterans - many of whom have performed in past CMT productions - for its second cabaret production through a new partnership with the Cincinnati Arts Association.

The Traverse Theatre is excited to announce the final additions to the Traverse Festival 2018 programme - including, in what is Scotland's Year of Young People 2018, Festival favourite Breakfast Plays: Youthquake, pairing three young Scottish playwrights from our Traverse Young Writers' group with three leading British writers. Together they will explore how the younger generation can be a catalyst for political and social change.

New Dramatists, Tony® Honor recipient and the nation's premier playwright development laboratory, just honored Tony®and Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington at its 69th Annual Spring Luncheon tribute. Washington, currently starring on Broadway in The Iceman Cometh, directed by George C. Wolfe, received New Dramatists' 2018 Distinguished Achievement Award. Tributes to Mr. Washington and performances were presented by three-time Grammy Award-winner Branford Marsalis with bassist Noah Jackson, Tony®Award-winners George C. Wolfe and Stephen McKinley Henderson, Constanza Romero (August Wilson Estate), and Pulitzer Prize finalist and New Dramatists resident playwright Kristoffer Diaz (The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity).

Broadway Sacramento announced the 2018 - 19 Broadway On Tour season at the Community Center Theater, sponsored by Wells Fargo, featuring four shows not previously presented in the series and three that are favorites of Broadway Sacramento audiences. The season features Sacramento premieres of On Your Feet!, Waitress, Aladdin, and The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Blues and Broadway take the stage as Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati presents the regional premiere of Larry Parr's His Eye is on the Sparrow, the powerful, heartbreaking, and uplifting account of the iconic Ethel Waters, who overcame a spirit-breaking childhood and racial injustice to become a legendary jazz and blues singer, Broadway pioneer, and Oscar-nominated actress. This one-woman musical biography recounts the life behind this leading lady and features some of Waters's most famous musical numbers. Playing April 24-May 19, 2018. Directed by D. Lynn Meyers. The 16th Annual Garden State Film Festival is thrilled to welcome award-winning veteran actor Christopher Lloyd to their spectacular four-day 16th Anniversary event in Asbury Park this year from March 22-25th! Mr. Lloyd will be in on hand the entire weekend to support the East Coast debut of his new feature film 'Making A Killing,' a twisted modern-day crime mystery, based on a true story. The film is scheduled to screen on Saturday March 24th from 8:00-10:00 p.m. at the Jersey Shore Arts Center in Ocean Grove, after which Mr. Lloyd will be presented with GSFF's 'Beacon Award.'

The League of Chicago Theatres, Goodman Theatre, the University of Illinois at Chicago, Broadway In Chicago and competition organizer Derrick Sanders announce the three Chicago finalists for the 9th Annual August Wilson Monologue Competition: Nia Safro from Chicago High School for the Performing Arts (first place, performed Molly, Joe Turner's Come and Gone); Chisom Chima from Nicholas Senn High School (second place; performed King, King Hedley II); and Evan Simpson from Chicago High School for the Performing Arts (third place, performed Youngblood, Jitney). The top three Chicago finalists were awarded scholarships in the amount of $500, $250 and $100, respectively. The top two winning students will receive expenses paid to travel to New York City for the National Finals, where they will compete on May 7, 2018.

Brian Conley's 2018 UK Tour Still The Greatest Entertainer - In His Price Range begins today, Tuesday 6 March 2018, at Swansea's Grand Theatre. Comedian, actor, singer and television presenter Brian Conley will perform to audiences around the UK as he embarks on a 40 date tour until 10 June 2018.

Jeffrey Gaines will perform at Club Passim on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 8:00 PM. Twenty-one Chicago high school students will once again compete in the finals of the August Wilson Monologue Competition for a chance to represent Chicago in the National Competition at the August Wilson Theatre in New York City. Hundreds of students competed across the city in preliminary rounds. The finals will be held at the Broadway Playhouse, 175 E Chestnut on February 26, 2018 at 6:00pm. The August Wilson Monologue Competition is free and open to the public. The top two winners of the Chicago finals will compete in the National Finals at Broadway's August Wilson Theatre in New York on May 7, 2018.
