Kimmel Cultural Campus has announced the much-anticipated return of in-person performing arts across their venues: the Kimmel Center, the Academy of Music, and the Merriam Theater. On September 18, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m., Kimmel Cultural Campus will host a grand reopening event in Commonwealth Plaza to celebrate the start of the 2021-22 season.

The novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire was published in 1995, and was further cemented into the fabric of our culture when it was made into a global phenomenon of a musical in 2003. A 25th anniversary edition of the novel is being released by HarperCollins on October 13th.

As readers know by now, the 2020 Tony Awards are going ahead based on a severely abbreviated season. Many were hoping there would be elimination and/or combination of categories to make them more competitive, but that announcement did not come as of the season’s final Tony Awards Administration Committee meeting.
