Now in its tenth consecutive year, the multi-award-winning Finborough Theatre presents Vibrant 2018 - A Festival of Finborough Playwrights, its annual explosion of new writing, running between 7-25 October 2018.

LYMAN, The Musical, is about, centrally, a person named Lyman Liri. We are first introduced to him as an adult when a lady stops to talk to him while he is selling Valencia oranges on the streets of Redlands, California. We begin to learn about both of them, and how they might even be connected, as the woman seems to recognize him, but can't recall from where or when. This is a brand new Musical that made it's El Portal debut the night I saw the performance. It is an amazing and courageous endeavor to not only put a spotlight on the homeless in our city, but to show how possible it could be that one choice, one decision could change the course of your life forever, in a flash, and this theme is explored thoroughly throughout Lyman's story.

Bringing together some of today's most remarkable ballet talents, Daniel Ulbricht's Stars of American Ballet returns to Jacob's Pillow, appearing in the Ted Shawn Theatre August 22-26. A principal dancer with New York City Ballet since 2007, Ulbricht is lauded as "one of the best male ballet dancers in New York" (Dance Magazine). As Artistic Director, curator, and performer, Ulbricht brings a unique vision and perspective to performance. With a cast highlighting 14 powerhouse dancers of New York City Ballet, this collective celebrates the legacy of choreographic legend Jerome Robbins with a program of his masterpieces on the occasion of his centennial, augmented by two Robbins-related PillowTalks.

Renowned music conservatory Manhattan School of Music (MSM) is celebrating its Centennial during the 2018-19 season with performances and events that draw inspiration from its rich 100-year history of music-making and education.

Performers from Broadway's Hamilton, Mean Girls and Carousel will be among the professional mentors for the Great American Songbook Foundation's 2018 Songbook Academy, the nation's only summer youth music intensive focused on the timeless standards of jazz, pop, Broadway and Hollywood.

Legendary songwriter, recording artist and performer Paul Simon will release his 14 th studio album - In The Blue Light - on September 7. Produced by Simon and Roy Halee, who have worked together since the 1960s, the album features a talented cast of musicians who have joined Simon to lend fresh perspectives on 10 of the artist's favorite (though perhaps less-familiar) songs, drawn from his unparalleled body of work.

After five years of teaching, running a theatre department, singing in a big band, and fighting cancer, Singer/Actor BRUCE CLOUGH returns to the New York DON'T TELL MAMA stage--the scene of his many past Cabaret triumphs--to celebrate times in his life when something awesome came from something awful. On Sunday, July 15 at 3:30 PM, Bruce brings SILVER LININGS to Don't Tell Mama (343 W 46th St., between 8th & 9th Ave). Featuring his Musical Director Jeff Dershin on piano, and backup vocalists Barbara Gurskey and Stephen Belfatti, Bruce will tell his poignant and inspirational life stories through classic Broadway show tunes, popular film songs, and eclectic pop music from the 1960s to the 2000s, featuring compositions by Irving Berlin, Jerry Herman, Stevie Wonder, Randy Newman, Jonathan Larson, Van Morrison, Weird Al Yankovic, and more.

The Kitchen presents Grammy nominee, MacArthur fellow composer-pianist Vijay Iyer's The What of the World (June 25-29), one of three weeklong residencies within The Racial Imaginary Institute's series On Whiteness. Iyer-noted in a New Yorker feature as "the most lauded piano player in jazz"-assembles a jaw-dropping group of cutting-edge artists across musical disciplines and creates what he refers to as an "affective archaeology" of systemic racism. This multifaceted residency is an exploration, from many perspectives, of what racial oppression feels like. Iyer's residency features four evening performances, as well as Iyer's new sound installation-titled How the Spotlight Sounds, with texts by Garnette Cadogan, author of "Walking While Black"-playing throughout the week.

The National Philharmonic ends its 2017-2018 season at The Music Center at Strathmore with a musical celebration, '100th Anniversary of Poland's Independence,' today, June 2 at 8 p.m. at the Concert Hall at the Music Center at Strathmore. Conducted by world-renowned Polish Maestro Miros?aw Jacek Baszczyk, the concert will feature music composed by Poland's greatest musicians, performed by some of today's leading vocalists and musicians. The performance will commence with an introduction by the Ambassador of Poland, Piotr Wilczek. The 100th anniversary of Poland has significant meaning for the National Philharmonic, which is led by Polish-born Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski. One of the National Philharmonic's veteran artists, Brian Ganz-who will perform at the Polish celebration concert-is also a frequent performer of Frederic Chopin, beginning a quest in 2011 to perform all of the great Polish composer's works. During this celebratory concert, Maestro B?aszczyk will lead the National Philharmonic Chorale, accompanied by Esther Heideman, soprano; Magdalena Wor, mezzo-soprano; Tyler Duncan, baritone; and the National Philharmonic in Krzesimir D?bski's Hussars' Polonaise and Karol Szymanowski's Stabat Mater and Mr. Ganz in Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 2 in F minor, Op. 21.  Ticket prices are $23-$76 and are free for young people age 7-17. When her ship is wrecked, Viola washes ashore in the unfamiliar land of Illyria and embarks on a journey to find her lost brother. Brimming with music, love and longing, Shakespeare's enchanting play transports audiences to a world of comedic mayhem, mistaken identity and unrequited passion. This co-production with the Resident Ensemble Players comes to Polonsky Shakespeare Center (262 Ashland Pl, Brooklyn), May 10-27.

This August, New York City will host the first ever Classical Bridge, an international music festival, academy and conference designed to build bridges through the music. On Wednesday, April 18, 2018, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts), along with honorary co-chairs Agnes Gund, Naeem Khan and Anna Deavere Smith, and gala co-chairs Sarah Arison, Diana DiMenna and Sandra Tamer, welcomed more than 220 of New York's top cultural and community leaders, philanthropists, celebrities and art aficionados to the third annual YoungArts New York Gala.

The Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE) is pleased to announce the 40th Annual Chicago Jazz Festival will be hosted from August 24–September 2 in Millennium Park, the Chicago Cultural Center (78 E.
