Waterwell is pleased to announce the extension by popular demand of the World Premiere site-specific production of The Courtroom, a re-enactment of deportation proceedings, with text arranged from real court transcripts by Waterwell co-founder and Tony Award nominee Arian Moayed, and featuring direction by Waterwell Artistic Director and Obie Award winner Lee Sunday Evans. Previously scheduled for only four performances, The Courtroom has added three performances to the following week.

On the heels of the iTunes release of the critically acclaimed documentaryMATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A. a previously unreleased song and music video have emerged from M.I.A's archives. 'Reload' was recorded in 2004, before the release in M.I.A.'s debut album Galang. M.I.A. and Elastica's Justine Frischmann were experimenting with the Roland 505 beat machine and 'Reload' is the result; Justine wrote the beats and Maya (she had not yet established her pop star persona 'M.I.A.') wrote the lyrics. The music video was shot on a handheld video camera in Justine Frischmann's basement, and it features Maya and her friends Rudy, Marsha and Deborah.

Dedicated to collecting, preserving and portraying the legacy of Greek history and culture in America, the National Hellenic Museum has the largest collection of Greek American artifacts and recorded oral histories anywhere. The National Hellenic Museum (NHM), 333 S. Halsted St., introduces its newest exhibition - George Kokines: Layers Revealed. On September 20, 2018, the National Hellenic Museum will open the first ever retrospective of the artist George Kokines. Using loaned objects and those from the NHM Collections, this exhibition traces Kokines' artistic development and accomplishments in Abstract Expressionism as well as his journey to embrace his Greek American identity.

Internationally-recognized and Twin Cities-based Ananya Dance Theatre (ADT) will present the world premiere of Shaatranga: Women Weaving Worlds, a 90-minute dance without intermission, as part of Women of Substance at The O'Shaughnessy at St. Catherine University, St. Paul, Friday and Saturday, September 21-22 at 7:30pm. The work is the fifth in the company's five-year series on the theme 'Work Women Do.'
