Transport Group has announced that additional casting for Promises, Promises-its second musical in this season's Anne L. Bernstein Concert Series-will include Stanley Bahorek (Amazing Grace, Queen of the Mist), Lauren Blackman (Anastasia), Hannah Corneau (Hedwig and the Angry Inch), Marc Kudisch (Finding Neverland, Hand to God), Sean Mclaughlin (Hello Dolly), Bruce Sabath (Cagney), Tally Sessions (War Paint), and Ali Stroker (Spring Awakening).

Romance of the Rose Productions announces the first casting for the new West End musical Knights of the Rose. Directed by Racky Plews and created by Jennifer Marsden, Knights of the Rose opens on 29th June for 9 weeks only at The Arts Theatre. Leading the noble Knights is Adam Pearce (King Aethelstan) who is joined by Chris Cowley (Palamon), Oliver Saville (Hugo), Rebecca Bainbridge (Queen Matilda / Bess), Rebekah Lowings (Isabel), Matt Thorpe (Horatio), Ruben Van keer (John), Katie Birtill (Hannah) and Bleu Woodward (Emily). Ian Gareth-Jones, Kelly Hampson and Tom Bales make up the ensemble.

It was not that long ago, and a time not unlike that which we live in now, that Green Day released the album American Idiot that narrated a story of the world's greatest nation's underbelly that many sought out through the punk movement to ease the social and political tensions at the turn of the millennium. Now Trump replaces Bush, Parkville replaces Columbine, climate change replaces global warming, South Korea replaces Afghanistan. American Idiot showed the world from the perspective of the middle class white male before we used words like privilege, proto-feminism and appropriation in the way and as frequently as we do today. He was frustrated, compelled to patriotism (or nationalism depending on your circumstances), seeking escape, modelling a tough exterior through whatever styling, attitude and substance would credit it. All the while advances in technology pummel the world's youth with information that elevates and isolates the individual. Such is the environment we are transported into in the musical adaptation of that album so many millennial adolescents leaned on.

The Sunday Los Angeles Times headlined Miranda Spigener-Sapon's first time stage adaptation of the award-winning Coffee with John as a must see night of music and theatre where #LoveDefiesSpaceTime. It is a sci-fi story about love that defies the space time continuum. A young journalist from the romantic era of John Keats and his literary circle passes through a portal in time, traveling to the present day and falls in love with a young literary professor. The journalist is played by the critically acclaimed/award-winner Ross John Gosla and the young professor by multiple ACTRA Award nominee Michelle Boback.

Metropolis Santa Monica hosts love defies space and time night of music and theatre for one night only on Valentines Day. Coffee with John is an award-winning short story adapted for the first time for stage by writer/director Miranda Spigener-Sapon. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater announces the world-premiere musical production of Dave by three-time Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan (Annie, Hairspray, The Producers), Tony Award nominee Nell Benjamin (Mean Girls, Legally Blonde) and Pulitzer Prize and two-time Tony Award winner Tom Kitt (Next to Normal, If/Then). The world-premiere engagement is produced by special arrangement with Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Doshudo Productions and Larger Than Life. Inspired by the Academy Award-nominated American political comedy film, Dave will run July 13-August 19, 2018 in the Kreeger Theater.

The Ad Council has joined with actor and producer David Schwimmer, writer and director Sigal Avin, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) and the National Women's Law Center (NWLC) to launch '#ThatsHarassment,' a national campaign to empower victims and bystanders to speak out and provide tools for employers to create a safe work environment.
