 The Discovery Orchestra, whose teaching concerts have introduced classical music to millions across the nation, has just won two Telly Awards for its latest program Discover the Firebird, an interactive exploration of Igor Stravinsky's iconic Firebird Suite. Led by Founder and Artistic Director George Marriner Maull, The Orchestra has been honored with a Silver Award for Television: General Education and a Bronze Award for Television: General Cultural for the one-hour program airing now on public television stations across the U.S., bringing its total to nine Tellys since 2011. The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens.

Conductor André Raphel conducts the Boston Symphony Orchestra in his BSO subscription series debut on Thursday, March 19, at 8pm; continuing on Friday, March 20, at 8pm (this concert is presented as part of the BSO's Casual Fridays); and Saturday, March 21 at 8pm. On Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 8:00pm, the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra performs a concert led by conductor Benjamin Zander at Boston Symphony Hall. The program features two storytelling works - Stravinsky's ballet Petrushka and Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique. Both tell fantastic stories with the most lavish orchestration.
