Beginning May 27th, TBTB will present the first New York revival of the Charles Ludlam classic, The Artificial Jungle. Ludlam founded the Ridiculous Theatrical Company 50 years ago and we are proud to present this hilarious comedy under the direction of the brilliant Everett Quinton, Ludlam’s partner and successor. An amalgam of sultry film noir and Zola’s Therese Raquin, The Artificial Jungle will keep you laughing all night long. The Artificial Jungle will be presented at the Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row. CONQUEST OF THE UNIVERSE OR WHEN QUEENS COLLIDE which marked the birth of the The Ridiculous Theatrical Company, co-founded by the late groundbreaking playwright and performer Charles Ludlam in 1967 will return on the occasion of the play and the company's 50th anniversary with a production, starring and directed by Everett Quinton, a long-standing member of RTC who assumed leadership as Artistic Director when Mr. Ludlam died 30 years ago, in 1987.

Written by Erasmus Fenn and directed by Joe Brancato, DROP DEAD PERFECT is laced with double-entendres and allusions to 1950s television and Hollywood melodramas. With adult language and situations, this outlandish production is recommended for adults only -- particularly those with a slightly twisted sense of humor.

The last two shows of Artists Rep's 2011/12 season, Race by David Mamet and Next to Normal by Brian Yorkey, music by Tom Kitt, will switch start dates. This change will allow Associate Artistic Director Jon Kretzu to direct the Broadway-bound It Shoulda Been You by Brian Hargrove, music by Barbara Anselmi, at the Village Theatre near Seattle, where it has its final production before its Broadway premiere this Fall. The show was produced at the George Street Playhouse in New Jersey last Fall and was directed by David Hyde Pierce.

Hamill's vibrant and colorful tale about society's foibles is a co-production with San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater.
